Deep fake technology is relatively new, and it is often used by developers unethically, misleading society for their benefit. It is, therefore, important to understand the current state of this technology and where there are regulatory limitations. This research tries to bridge this gap through a scoping review with the Prisma-ScR methodology by analysing existing resources to determine ways of mitigating the negative consequences of deep fakes technologies.
