Grandparents are becoming parents again for various reasons (e.g., rising costs of living, young parents, children born to parents that are drug addicts). Regardless of the reason, there is a growing number of grandparents becoming custodial grandparents to their grandchildren. Existing research suggests the need for effective parenting programs for custodial grandparents, yet none exist. Based on the literature, a proposed parenting program for these grandparents was developed, and sent to five subject matter experts for review. Their ratings and suggestions are analyzed and discussed.
