Internet of Things markets, such as healthcare, manufacturing, home-based, and transportation, are experiencing rapid growth. When properly utilized, health-related wearable IoT devices can automatically share data with caregivers to enrich treatment plans, promote independent living, enhance user autonomy, strengthen quality-of-life, improve interventions, and potentially extend the lives of older people. However, older adults may find it difficult to use new electronic devices or adopt new technology. Additionally, data and privacy security are linked to trust and trustworthiness-data owners must trust that sensitive information will not be disclosed to unauthorized actors or used to conduct malicious activities. This research focuses on outcomes among older people living in the United States to adopt health related, wearable IoT technologies. The purpose of this quantitative nonexperimental study was to test the technology acceptance model (TAM) that determines the relationship of predictor variables to the dependent variable. The study investigated the effect of user perceptions toward perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness on the intention of older adults living in the United States to adopt wearable health related IoT applications. The current study included a sample of 128 adults aged 50-65 who completed an online survey. Multiple regression was utilized for hypothesis testing. The study found that older adults' perceptions of the usefulness of wearable health-related technology and ease of wearable health-related technology use was significantly associated with their adoption intention. When older adults perceived wearable health-related technology as more useful and easier to use, they were more likely to intend to adopt wearable health-related technology.
