To date, no research has examined female Masters Divers' motivation to participate in diving or how body image affects them. Through ethnographic experience and interviews with nineteen female Masters divers, this project aimed to understand the motives for participation and deterrents for participation while simultaneously understanding how the body is affected by Masters Diving and how one's perception of body image affects them. Utilizing a Reflexive Thematic Analysis to understand the findings, five themes emerged: Motivation, The Body, Body Image, Social Interaction, and Masters Diving. Based on these findings, this research project developed suggestions for future research and recommendations to create praxis.
