This study focuses on addressing the housing crisis specifically in Manila, Philippines, by investigating the potential of integrating bamboo and recycled plastic as sustainable building materials for interior spaces. Through a thorough examination of their structural, environmental, and economic viability, the research aims to propose effective solutions to the multifaceted issue of overpopulation within the city. By drawing inspiration from the adaptive characteristics of the traditional Filipino Bahay Kubo architecture, the study seeks to develop strategies to confront challenges associated with climate change, including the threat of rising sea levels, within the urban context of Manila. Ultimately, the objective is to foster the implementation of environmentally conscious practices while meeting the increasing demand for public housing and revitalizing existing structures within Manila.
