A review of superconducting coplanar waveguide (CPW) S21 transmission through high quality (Qi~106) quarterwave resonators is detailed. By measuring and predicting the resonance frequency of high Qi devices made of Nb on crystalline Si, the dielectric constant of an aluminum passivated orthocarborane powder deposited on top of the resonators is measured by two methods. The first method requires accurate predicting of the Nb on Si resonance frequency (εR2 = 1.461 + .086), while the 2nd method is more reliable and relies purely on experimental techniques (εR2 = 1.295 + .007). The bare Nb on Si circuit samples were also measured before and after heating in a chemical vapor deposition chamber. It was found that the oxidation of Nb at these temperatures makes it unsuitable for any device that needs on-site annealing. CPWs with coupled quarterwave resonators of high kinetic inductance (AlOx) and Qi were also measured and reported. Resonators with tunability through DC current bias were also fabricated and reported, showing resonance frequency shifting ~4% for NbTiN, ~.4% for s-TiN, and ~.1% for multilayered Ti/TiN. Both NbTiN and s-TiN circuits maintained their signal shape through all shifts.A transmon qubit was also measured in an adiabatic demagnetization refrigerator. Here the T2 coherence times were estimated to be above 3.9*10-8s and were not significantly affected by molecular O2 saturation.
