This study proposes a military logistics system designed to withstand externally planned and highly damaging disruptions. Due to the complexity of logistics processes and the dependency of users on their efficiency, logistics are crucial to the success of both commercial and military systems. Previous logistics system designs trended towards a lean approach, but recent events such as Covid-19 have highlighted the importance of designing for disruptions. The objective is to identify the logistics design changes that will have the most benefit against the disruption scenarios inflicting the maximum damage to the system's throughput. The maximum damage is identified by generating a large set of simulation runs and comparing system throughput. After calculating the set of simulation runs with the worst performance, analysis is completed to determine which node(s) in the system that have the most significant effect on improving system performance. The results were analyzed and identified that the international shipping routes were the weakest points. Adjustments to the supply chain based upon these findings led to an average 5% increase in throughput of the worst-case scenarios. Further experimentation validates the identified weak points in supply chain model through methods such as disruption localization, increasing disruption modes, and comparison of homogeneous and heterogeneous attack intensities. Future work may focus commercial application of these findings, with a greater emphasis on the financial costs.
