This thesis takes the Scholar-Beauty Novels in the Ming and Qing Dynasties as the research object, focusing on the poetry involved in the novels. The vernacular novels of the Ming and Qing Dynasties were very popular, and there were a large number of Scholar-Beauty Novels with vernacular writing and a large number of poems and rhymes, which formed a school. The poems in the novel, on the one hand, show the tradition of popular literature, on the other hand, show the relationship with elegant literature, and vividly show the poetic achievements of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The authors of Scholar-Beauty Novels are mostly dissatisfied low-level scholars, and the readership they face is multi-level. This is different from the vernacular novel, which is related to the storytellers and oral skills, and also different from the generation cumulative long chapter novel. Scholar-Beauty Novels are literary works and personal creation. The unremitting pursuit of poetic art and active attachment to elegance are the important literary characteristics of Scholar-Beauty Novels. Novelists are also poets. In their novels, they express their fantasies and hopes in poetry, take the initiative to talk with the poetry world, and retain fresh poetic words. The achievements of poetry in the novel are limited, but the author has a very strong sense of poet identity and the meaning of poetry transmission. This batch of poetry in the Ming and Qing Dynasties and the words discussing poetic art are also the literature materials rarely paid attention to by previous scholars. Later, Zhipi's Dream of Red Mansions clearly pointed out that "I said that Xueqin wrote this book, which also has the meaning of transmitting poetry". It is precisely that the Dream of Red Mansions has a higher pursuit and breakthrough after recognizing the limitations of its predecessors and achieved more profound works. The Scholar-Beauty Novels can be said to be an important transition. In addition, there are still many poems in the Scholar-Beauty Novels that have not received due attention. For example, the rich miscellaneous poems can fill the research gap. An accurate understanding of the achievements of the poems in the Scholar-Beauty Novels can enable us to have a deeper understanding of the poetry of the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
