The purpose of this study was to understand the lived experiences of underrepresented women in predominantly male domains to form the basis for identifying strategies for senior leaders and educators to address the perspectives of those experiencing gender discrimination. The problem addressed in this study was that senior leaders and educators had not successfully established strategies needed to reduce gender discrimination in predominantly male domains. Ten participants, all current or previous leaders within predominantly male professions, were interviewed for this study. All interviews were transcribed using a transcription program, then analyzed using Dedoose qualitative analysis software. The findings in this study indicate five significant themes: integration, success factors, inhibitor practices, support required, and required shifts. All participants indicated a need for societal changes that allow women to enter predominantly male professions and encourage them to enter them.
