Bu calismada, mikro olcekli endustiriyel firmalarin hizli ve stratejik urun tasarim ve gelistirme faaliyetlerini desteklemek icin sistematik bir method gelistirildi. Musteri iliskilerinden baslayarak pilot uretim hattinin olusturulmasina kadar izlenecek usul ve teknikler arastirilip sekillendirildi.Gelistirilen yontem ile, buluscu urun tasarim tekniklerinin micro olcekli kuruluslar tarafindan daha hizli ve etkin bir sekilde uygulanmasi beklenmektedir.Bu arastirmada sunulan bir cok inceligin muhendis ve teknisyenlere (mikro olcekli kuruslarda cok az sayida olmasina ragmen) basarili urun gelistirmede yardimci olacagi da dusunulmektedir. Ortaya cikan bircok prensip ve yaklasimlarin butun urun cesitlerinin tasarimina uygun oldugu dusunulsede, buradaki esas, muhendislik icerigi olan urunlerin gelistirilmesine yoneliktir. Bu calisma ozellikle; problemin formulasyonu, fikrin olusturulmasi (konsept) ve urunun sekillendirilip ortaya cikartilmasiyla ilgilenmektedir. Umulur ki, bu calisma mikro olcekli firmalardaki muhendis ve teknisyenlere, tasarim problemlerinin arastirma ve aydinlatilmasinda ayrica tasarim cozumlerinin olusturulma ve degerlendirilmesinde yardim edecektir.Yeni urunler gelistirmekte olan cok sayida mikro olcekli firma uzerinde mulakatlar ve arastirmalar yaparak, onlarin urun gelistirme yaklasimlari, problemleri ve stratejileri hakkinda bilgi edinildi. Sistem gelistirildikten sonra bu firmalarla tekrar baglanti kuruldu. Gelistirilen sistemi tanitmak icin seminerler duzenlendi ve bu firmalarin urun gelistirme calismalari takip edildi.Gelistirilen sistemin etkinligini belirlemek icin bu firmalarin daha sonra ki tasarim calismalarinin sonuclari toplandi ve incelendi.Ayrica bu doktora tezinde micro olcekli isletmelerdeki calismalarin arasindaki bilgi akisi agi ve teknik calismalari belirlenmeye calisilmistir. Bu calisma ayrica firmalarin guclu ve zayif yonlerini gormeleri acisindan faydali olacaktir.

520 $a A systematic methodology is developed in this thesis to support rapid and strategic product design and development activities of micro scale industrial companies. Beginning from the customer contact stage until establishing a pilot manufacturing line, the techniques and procedures to be followed are investigated and streamlined. The methodology developed is expected to make the use of creative design techniques more rapidly and efficiently by micro scale enterprises.This research also offers a number of tactics as aids to engineers and technicians (however small in number in micro scale enterprises) for designing successful products. Its main emphasis is on the design of products that have an engineering content, although most of the principles and approaches that it will generate are expected to be relevant to the design of all kinds of products. This work is essentially concerned with problem formulation and the conceptual and embodiment stages of design. It is expected that this work will help the engineers and technicians in micro scale companies in the exploration and clarification of design problems and the generation and evaluation of design solutions.An extensive search in this area and interview with several micro scale companies who are in new product development are made to learn their approach, problems and strategies. These companies are contacted after the system developed in this work. They are given free seminars to learn the system, and their product development works are followed afterwards. After their design work, their responses are obtained to ascertain the effectiveness of the developed system.It is also planned in this thesis to determine the network structure of micro scale companies and their technical workers. This may also indicate the strength and weakness of these companies.
