The emergence of such a phenomenon as soft power has activated scholarly efforts to analyze its specific and impact on international relations. This thesis is an analysis of soft power strategies of Austria, Germany, Sweden and Finland. Its aim is to identify the main features and qualities of selected countries' soft power. The main qualitative method is a comparative analysis. Apart from core theories of international relations, realism and liberalism in particular, the author uses the theory of "Nation Branding". The thesis analyzes cases that revealed the use of soft power in foreign policy of countries entered in European Union in 1995 (Austria, Sweden, Finland) and country that has a very broad spectrum of soft power strategies (Germany). It touches upon such aspects of soft power as nation branding strategy in foreign policy, tourist soft power, educational soft power and digital soft power.
