This project aims to develop a curriculum for high school concert band that merges traditional concert band practices with the curriculum policies put in place by the Hackensack Public School District and the State of New Jersey. Using the New Jersey Student Learning Standards, in combination with the tenets of Understanding by Design (Wiggins, 2005), the Hackensack Digital Learning Plan (2016), and the State of New Jersey Student Growth Objectives, this curriculum unit plan will cover one semester's work for a high school concert band. This paper details the twelve-week rehearsal and performance cycle of new repertoire for the Hackensack High School Concert Band. The study is outlined as a curriculum project unit plan which is designed to integrate technology into the band classroom while aligning with current National Educational Technology Standards, International Society for Technology in Education Standards, New Jersey Student Learning Standards, as well as, the Hackensack School District's Digital Learning Plan. The curriculum was designed using the Understanding by Design format.
