Language development is as essential to nutrition for a developing child. Current research examines theories and connections to caregiver roles in infant language development and the correlation to the economic status of the child's home. The role of the early childhood infant teacher was examined in this study through their use of language through repetition, turn taking, and unique and repeated words and the differential was connected to the facilities accreditation level. Eight unique participants at four early childhood education (ECE) facilities were observed in a cumulative of twelve visits to develop a snap shot understanding of language environments, print rich examples, quality interactions, and the number of words used. Accreditation level was shown to be a possible predictor in the amount of rich and unique words along with the amount of words used in Pennsylvania Keystone STARS accredited ECE facilities. This suggests the role of accredited ECE facilities is essential for children of all economic status who attend care outside of the home and the possibility that accredited ECE could serve as an intervention for children from language deficient homes.
