This study set out to describe the change in skills of special education students from the perspective of their coworkers at work-based transition sites. The study describes the perspective of 25 coworkers who work with students with disabilities in work-based programs within Riverview Intermediate Unit. The data was collected through open-ended, semi-structured interviews in multiple work sites located within three counties of Western Pennsylvania. The central question that guided this study was: Based on the perspective of coworkers of students with disabilities, to what extent (if any) do the skills of the students change during participation in work-based transition programs? A sub question for the study was: In what ways do the work skills of students with disabilities who are in work-based transition programs change based on the differences in their skills from when they start and end the program? A second sub question for this study was: In what ways do those students' soft and social skills change based on the differences in their skills during the same time frame?
